Monthly Archives: March 2014

and the week is over.

20140328_115057

And the week flew by just like that. He’s back at work now, and I have to get back to doing actual work too. Not that I didn’t do work when he was around, since we both dedicated at least 4-5 hours a day doing our work… but still. :\

Regardless, we headed to Publika on Friday morning for brunch, and to hunt for a present for his colleague/boss/friend! And also because we were almost done with all our work, or a bulk of the important ones anyway, so we could venture a bit further. I picked out Marmalade for us to have brunch at, cause I wanted to move away from The Red Beanbag for abit, as much as I like that place.

20140328_114815I had the egg white omelette, and Marmalade in Publika is one of the first places I know of which serves this! The rest of their menu is pretty healthy too, perfect for the health conscious one like I partially am. Inside the omelette was spinach and feta cheese, and its served with stewed beans and sauteed mushrooms. Was deelish!

On a side note, it’s nice to be dating a guy whose as obsessed with food pictures and picture taking as I am. We embody the religion of the pastamonster! 😛

20140328_124149

Walked around for abit after that, but couldn’t find a suitable present so we went to Coffee Stain by Joseph at Publika to get the boy his caffeine fix, and I introduced him to Red Ribbondays so he could get the present from there instead.

He ended up doing so, because their offerings are so unique, special, but perfectly tailored for different individuals! We ended up picking the Cessna flight for his friend, whose a really adventurous lady. Crossing fingers she’ll like it!

20140328_125335He got the coffee ice cubes, which he complained was a little diluted, even if he admitted it was special. Since I don’t fancy coffee, and I’m a frivolous girl at heart, I took the dark iced chocolate with 3D latte art! There was an extra RM5 cost for the 3D art, but I took it for the novelty’s sake.

20140328_125349It was so cute! I couldn’t stop taking pictures! (okay maybe the fact that I paid RM5 for this made the kiasu in me not stop. xD)

20140328_125634As I drank it, I tried not to disturb the art… and continued snapping away. It was difficult to not ruin the art as the drink went down though.

20140328_130204Hellppp! The pig’s drowning!! The bear surprisingly stayed pretty intact throughout.

20140329_002331

Went back to continue our work a bit, before he went for his usually Friday tennis session, and I headed off for dance practice. 4 hours of sweat and exercise later, he picked me up from training and we headed to shower and dinner at a mamak (it was 11+ by then. >.<) before heading for our IMAX screening of… jengjeng, Captain America!

We’ve been waiting for the release of this since forever. I cannot wait for the rest of the Marvel movies to get released… and then its The Avengers 2! I’ve been waiting since the last Avengers movie finished!

The movie was pretty good, albeit I got a bit of a headache cause of the 3D. I could never really watch IMAX movies cause I’m horribly susceptible to getting headaches from 3D motion pictures, but since he was really excited for it to be in IMAX, I went along with it anyway.

Ended up watching  3/4 of the movie without the 3D glasses, but its not too bad! I could still see, and it wasn’t always in blurry images. 😛 We ended up getting home only about 3AM, and I collapsed immediately, half from exhaustion from the late hour and dance class, and half from the discomfort of the headache.

20140329_121315

Class on Saturday! Trust me, getting up was a chore since I slept so late the night before, but these people always make class more bearable, and better.

20140329_122630(0)

Epic moment after class, when we were standing around a receptacle chatting, Lee was playing with his ring and it fell in the bin. He had to dig through it in the middle of the library looking, and the rest of us couldn’t stop laughing. xD

20140329_140025The boy picked me up after class, and i brought him to eat THE BEST char siew in town! It’s Meng Kee char siew in Glenmarie, originally from Jalan Alor in KL. I only went to the original branch once, before I found out they had one near my place, and I end up bringing everyone I know there! So far, no one has complaint just yet.

20140329_163434Went home to prepare some food for our balloon outing that night, and then its a caffeine fix again before going over to his place! Haikara this time, where he loved the Brazilian single origin, and the best cheesecake. They had pumpkin pudding too! The boy didn’t fancy it, but I loveddddd. Pumpkin addiction. :p

20140329_200719We planned on having a picnic at the Balloon Fiesta that was on in Putrajaya the weekend that just passed, but the weather plots against me! Right around 7PM, when we left his house to head there, it thundered, and then started raining.

But picnic we did! In the car that is, avoiding the rain and spreading the blanket on the backseat. We took food from there and ate using the dashboard and handrest as ‘tables’ for our food. Consider it a one of a kind date night. 😛

20140329_212657There was supposed to be a night glow light show of floating hot air balloons and a firework show, but due to the rain, we only managed to catch a toned down version of the light show, where the balloons were tethered to the ground, and no fireworks either. A little dissapointed, but the company is the one that matters<3

20140330_155900Sunday is our usual dance day, and half our day was spent in the studio before class ended at 3PM. By then we were exhausted, and not really hungry either. And since we were gonna have dinner at home (my mom made dhal!! The house smelt amazing when we got home I tell you<3), we decided to shower and then have a light lunch in Epiphany in Oasis.

Epiphany sells homemade nut butters! To know me is to know of my addiction with nut butters. I would eat PB with anything! And I would totally horde everything from cashew to almond butters too, if they weren’t three times more expensive then peanut butter. ><

20140330_112603So that was my week! Eventful, but is going to dwindle to boring again starting this week, since its back to work work work. Weekends are the only happening days for me, which explains my usual weekly updates I guess? People should start having weekday events for me. 😛 But then again, most of my acquaintences are working/studying, so only the weekends make sense I guess?

Oh, those are all my bruises from dance class. My legs are littered with them, I think I could pass for a household abuse candidate if I said anything. 😛

20140330_193125This one in particular is turning in to various shades of colors! The boy tries to massage it away, but I’m not letting him anywhere near it. It hurts gdi! D:

holiday week!

It’s the school holidays, and while I’m not a high school student any more, because the boy is a teacher, he’s been on partial holiday the whole week too, and I’m loving it so far! I say partial holiday cause even if he doesn’t have classes, he still has a load of work to do, setting papers and marking them and stuff. But because he doesn’t have classes during the day, I’ve literally been seeing him everyday, and we’ve mostly been going out food hunting for brunch before we start work for the day.

20140325_113453

We went to a cafe near my place called J&D Espresso on Tuesday, where I’ve been meaning to try out but never got the chance to. His typical order was coffee, and I had my usual tea again. English Breakfast was so-so, but I loved the smell of his long black! I can’t drink coffee cause I get a headache from it, but I love the smell of it!

20140325_114550

Pancakes and the big breakfast! No prizes for guessing who got the pancakes, with my major sweet tooth. It was even layered with almond crumble, and tasted delicious with the berry compote! His poached eggs were beautiful too!

20140325_182723

Tuesday night we had plans with his colleagues and friends to go to Bangsar for a preview session on how to be a negotiater. The preview session was super enlightening!

20140325_183740

Cause the session was at 7.30, we headed to BSC for some early dinner’s, and Grace showed us this place called Buffalo’s Kitchen. They serve homemade italian cuisine, and my order of homemade spinach fettucine with manchego and salsa tasted divine. The mix of flavor’s was awesome!

20140325_183408

This was June’s order, and I couldn’t resist it cause the cured salmon was colored so beautifully!

20140325_184335

Li Yon’s burger was succulent and juicy too. Beef burgers are seriously overrated I tell you, pork burgers are the best! I still prefer Burgertory in SS15 though. 😛

20140326_095448

I had a full day on Wednesday, with a meeting with my supervisor for my thesis in the morning. So I brought my lunch over to campus and decided to collect the book vouchers for students as well. Took the picture cause I was so enamoured by the pretty layers of my pb&j. xD

20140326_122125

Haven’t felt so much like a campus student for awhile! Borrowing headphones, fighting for a seat and whatnot. xD

Which by the way, my uni has mentally retarded itself. Seriously, on a campus with 6- 7k students, you limit it to 4 hours a day, 100 vouchers each hour? What the shit? I had to line up for an hour and a half just to get these vouchers. It’s a good thing its my last year, cause I’m seriously considering if its worth it.

20140326_150823

The boy picked me up after I collected the vouchers, and we headed to Korean Street Food Cafe in Sunway Pyramid for lunch. While the cafe isn’t all too nice… okay, I wouldn’t pick it as my first choice. I’d rather go Ko Hyang any day. But! It’s the only Korean food place I know of which sells Jajangmyeon, and I’ve been craving it since I saw them eating it on The Heirs, so ate it I did.

20140326_153123

He loves the coffee from the new Korean cafe called Caffe Bene in Pyramid, so we swung by there to get his caramel macchiato and a espresso gelato for myself before heading home to continue work. I think my caffeine tolerance went slightly up these days, cause I loved the gelato! One of the smoothest gelato’s I’ve ever had.

I had dance that night, and after dance we headed for dinner before he sent me back. During dinner though, a friend messaged him calling for help since his friend’s cousin or acquaintance or something got blood cancer and needed blood. Which was why on Thursday morning, we headed to the hospital where the patient was to donate blood.

img1395905668086

Oddly enough, when I gave blood my blood pressure was fine, but it dived after I finished. I was even made to sit in the bed for an extra 10 minutes or so. And they gave me sickeningly sweet Milo to drink, which I hated. It tasted even worst cause I haven’t been having any sweet drinks for ages!

20140327_131233

I felt super lethargic after that too, but we needed food so I brought him to a cafe called The Good Batch in Damansara Uptown. A friend of ours said they had super good poached eggs, so I naturally ordered their Norwegian, which was poached eggs and hollandaise sauce with a deliciously thick slab of smoked salmon and onion capsicum confit on toasted bread. It was awesome! I never knew onion confit went so well with poached eggs.

20140327_130903

The boy ordered their Parisienne, stacks of French Toast layered with Bechamel sauce and turkey ham, with two sunny side ups. Had a bite, and the flavours blended amazingly well together, if a little under seasoned.

20140327_130633

His ristretto was amazing too, according to him. But…. yeah, caffeine. In that thick consistency? I might have an aneurysm if I had so much as a sip. xD

I had dance that night, and it was… interesting to say the least. I couldn’t keep my balance, couldn’t put sharpness in my moves, basically felt super lethargic. And after follow my dance teacher’s instructions and repeating our routine 9 times, I promptly plonked myself down in a spot as she moved on to the next group, and didn’t move again until after she was done and was ending class. My head was spinning everytime I moved.

The boy came to practice to pick me up, and while we were supposed to wait to celebrate a friend’s birthday (and she hadn’t arrived), he insisted on bringing me off cause he said I needed food, especially since we just donated blood that morning. Technically speaking, I wasn’t supposed to do any vigorous exercise within 24 hours of donation… yeah, I see why. Lesson learned! xD

Last day of his holidays, time to savor them! It’s back to the daily grind next week. ):

bread machine updates & fat burgers

20140324_105230

More from the bread machine department: it’ll take another 2 weeks before my beloved machine comes back to me, as Kenwood is waiting on spare parts to replace them. My heart broke when I heard that. T_T

Although on the bright side, this loaf of nine-seed carrot bread I got from a neighborhood grocery is pretty good. Definitely buying it again!

20140322_073146Anyway! The weekend that just passed was the boyfriend’s sister’s wedding, and I stayed over at his place to help out in the morning tea ceremony and stayed till after the wedding banquet at night. It’s typical of chinese tea ceremonies to make the groom ‘work hard’ to get his bride, and the bridemaids prepared these syringes.

Looks innocent enough no? Don’t let your eyes deceive you, they are a mix of vile tasting juices, and the red one even has pepper and chilli in it, and one of the groomsmen vomited from it. I find wedding games to be entertaining in general, but I for one wouldn’t want mine to go overboard.

20140322_073218Tea set! If you think the ‘tea’ served at the tea ceremony is actually tea, you’re wrong. It’s actually a sweet red date and rock sugar drink, quickly boiled the morning of. Drinking chinese tea at a ceremony is a big no-no, as the drink is supposed to be sweet to signify a sweet marriage.

20140322_160354We slept at 3AM the night before and woke up at 5AM to prepare, so after the morning session was done, I pretty much collapsed for a long nap before waking up to get ready for dinner. Excuse the bare feet, but cause the ‘theme’ was blue for her wedding, I chose one of my old dressed instead of the long black one I wanted to wear. The boyfriend’s house has a super large mirror, so I love taking my OOTD shots there! xD

20140322_173130Banquet was held at Oriental Banquet in SS2… which I had no idea existed until he told me. Granted, the place is rather small, but the food was good!

20140322_200307My favorite dish at any chinese dinner: the four seasons! I guess I’m the type who likes variety, so if you serve me a plate full of different foods, I’m a happy girl. xD

20140322_225055We pretty much ended at 11AM, and by the time we settled everything else and got home, it was past midnight already. I died in bed right after getting clean, cause we had dance class the next morning.

20140323_145658Finally getting to try the burgers from Fat Boy’s Burgers! I always thought they only had one branch in Publika, until the boy brought me to One City the other day, and I got the shock of my life when I saw one there.

20140323_150309

The boy had the Elvis burger, a pork patty with grilled bananas and peanut butter all over it. You’d think I would want peanut butter on my burger, since I’m such a PB addict right?

20140323_150302But my main reason for dying to try Fat Boys Burger was cause of their lamb! Its rare to find lamb burgers, so of course I was gonna go for that.

20140323_150409I built my own burger, and used a wholemeal bun with lamb patty, carrot shreds and delicious delicious Fat Boys BBQ sauce. It was a perfect combination, simple in tastes to not distract the wonderfully gamey taste of lamb away.

And then we spent the rest of Sunday lazing at home recuperating from the wedding the day before. My feet still hurt from standing for 4 hours in heels. T_T The boy’s gonna be partially off from work this week cause of the school holidays, so more time to spend!

Even if its just the two of us will spend it doing work in the same room, it’s the company that counts? =P Cause he has a tonneload of exam papers to set and I have to rush a thesis and an assignment which due date might be brought forward. >.<

pre-day jitters?

Largely uneventful, mostly food related post really. So why am I updating? Cause I figured I need to get rid of the pictures… because they look so tempting on my phone!

20140319_111502

I have a tendency to take pictures of my morning PB&J if it looks particularly tempting. Remember the fiasco of the bread machine? Well, the stepdaddy brought it over to be fixed, but it’s going to take one week. Imagine my horror when I heard that?

So in the meantime, we bought bread from a nearby bakery. Okay I admit, I’m mildly happy, cause the bakery’s always had interesting loafs which I never bought cause we always made our own bread. This one was the yam swirled one! The yam paste in between tasted delicious with PB&J all over.

I finished up the final two pieces for dinner after one night, oh so irresistible. Just bought a new loaf of craisin and spinach bread for tomorrow’s breakfast! It’s amazing how excited I am at the prospect of eating breakfast tomorrow. xD

Another reason why its been pretty uneventful in life these days is cause I’ve been stuck either doing my thesis/assignments, or watching The Heirs, a Korean drama I recently got addicted to. The OST’s been on repeat too. I used to spend hours watching drama’s, but ever since I started university, I haven’t had the time. I think this is the first K-Drama I’ve watched in years really, but its so good!

The weekend’s setting up to be a super busy one, what with a wedding and weekend dance class resuming. Off to watch some episodes of The Heir’s! Hopefully I can finish before the hectic weekend resumes. I was left on a cliff hanger! D:

tragedy!

The breadmaker has been a star in my house since my parents bought it a year and a half ago. We literally have not been buying any storebought or commercialized, or even bakery made bread since we got it. It’s a habit for me to wake up on Sunday morning and make a 750g loaf for the week before I do anything else.

But over the weekend… the breadmaker broke.

Imagine my horror! I didn’t know, but last week my bread already turned out funny. I thought it was just me getting my measurements wrong (although how I could not fathom, since I have been doing this for a year I could measure stuff out with my eyes closed), but then it happened again this week! The bread just didn’t rise and looked like a mess.

So obviously, I went to my mother, solver of all mysteries. She threw away my batch, and proceeded to make one herself. And like mothers, she found the problem. The mixer at the bottom which mixes all the ingredients together was stuck… by what we had no idea. It just didn’t work! So the stepfather is going to send it to the store to fix it ASAP.

20140316_213138In the meantime, it’s back to storebought bread. *makes a face* Maybe it’s my atas tastebuds again, but i do not fancy eating Massimo or even bakery bread anymore. I like my homemade bread!

Regardless though, we had a lump of dough already mixed in the machine, so the mother took it out and proceeded to knead it by hand. Making bread is an arduous process of kneading, throwing, kneading again and generally require’s a lot of energy.. but the result is delicious!

20140316_230803She only handmade bread once, before declaring it too much work and then we subsequently got the breadmaker. But I forgot how much difference it is!

While the breadmaker serves its purpose, handmade bread is fluffier, softer, tastes and smells more fragrant and delicious! Although I doubt my mom would make this again, it tastes amazing!

20140317_110321Better enjoy the one batch of homemade bread I have for now, cause it might be eons before my mom makes it again (or until the next time something is wrong with the breadmaker again. xD). PB&J, my favorite combination for breakfast this morning! Best breakfast ever.

weekends, food and fun: Betty’s Midwest Kitchen!

20140315_124744

My weekend’s always start off on the most mundane note, because as a Master’s student, my classes are scheduled on Saturday morning’s at 10am. In our effort to make our classes less scathing though, my coursemates and I make it a point to have lunch after class as often as we can!

Lunch this week was a simple affair though, since Jess had to rush afterwards, so we ended up at Lunchbox in SMR. Lunchbox has horrible choice of food, so while the rest got their food, I ended up getting a Chicken Toastie from Starbucks. I do miss it though!

Headed off to visit my best friend in SJMC cause she was down with dengue, and i made another batch of the red date barley soup for her. Apparently Subang’s having a dengue epidemic, and the haze is not helping matters. =(

20140315_191930The boy is finally better! He still has a lingering cough, but his fever, headache’s and generally lethargicness is gone now, so I finally saw him after a week plus of not seeing him! A huge weight off my shoulders too now that he’s better and I can stop being so worried.

We had dinner at Paradigm after he dropped by too visit the best friend too. I had Japanese cravings, but Sushi Zanmai had a sinfully long line, so we ended up in Pasta Zanmai. While I loved the sesama salmon pasta and salmon sashimi… their portions are horrendous. =.=

20140315_201901And because the boy was still hungry after that, and I wanted to satisfy my sweet tooth, we shopped for abit before ending up in Komugi for desserts. Only the best place ever for desserts I tell you! I usually like their half-baked Hanjuku cheesecake, but my mouth was itchy and I ended up with the mango cheesecake… which was equally good really.

Watched Need for Speed, a movie remake of the game I used to play on the PS when I was a kid. I trounced my brother in that game when I was fourteen I tell you! A young girl beating her elder brother at a racing game, not a sight you see often, heh. But I stopped playing for a long time and now…. I just suck at racing games.

I do miss playing them though.

Regardless, the movie was really good, and dare I say stayed really true to the game. What with the high speed highway races, cop chases and crashes, not to mention the superbly sexy Ford Mustang and Koenigsegg featured… it was really good.

20140315_233304Returned home Saturday night to find a box of Royce chocolate wafers waiting for me from my aunt. I get pampered too much. :3

screenshotEditsWas supposed to go for a breakfast thing with his friends, at a place opened by an ex-student of his, but because the booking fell through, I went for breakfast with my parents instead! Did our usual grocery shopping afterwards too, where I finally caved and got my chia seeds. Expensive, but healthy… soooo. =( The price one has to pay for eating clean and healthy.

20140316_142559He was hungry by the time he came to look for me though, so I brought him to a new cafe opened near my place called Jac’s on the 8th. I just had scones, since my breakfast was pretty heavy. Cranberry scones with passionfruit jam was delightfully buttery and fragrant… and they had chai latte too! Oh joy is me. The boy’s grilled chicken dish was good too, and pretty generous in portion size. Definitely returning, and bringing the parentals too!

20140316_143843They had these quotes on the wall, and I found this one particularly resounding to me. Especially with my newly adopted lifestyle of clean and healthy eating. It’s not about cutting out complete food groups or your favorite dishes, but about making smart choices, healthy choices, but also about feeding your soul sometimes. It’s an art of balance, in the act of eating that one has to achieve to get that right without diving off either side of the deep end.

20140316_203155This is one of the few Sundays we have no dance class, so we pigged at dinner. Best decision ever right?

Betty’s Midwest Kitchen in Aman Suria was a place I’ve been planning to go for awhile, but just never got the chance to. Because he’s sick of chicken though, and I wanted some porcine goodness, we came to Betty’s… best choice ever.

Their meatloaf was loosely held together, perfectly fragrant and seasoned. His pork chop was deliciously cooked too, with the country gravy making it even more delicious. The same gravy was baked with cheese over fries, a dish they call ‘Dog Food’, but tasted anything but. Quite possibly the highlight of dinner, really. It was amazing!

20140309_111728Oh random plug from last weekend, where a baker friend of ours brought some leftover offcuts of a cake he was commissioned to make. It was delicious layers of frangipane, chocolate, marmalade and custard…. tonguegasmic<3

Weekends are over too quickly! ): And with his sister’s wedding coming up on Saturday, plus dance class resuming on Sunday, the next weekend seems set to be a very very busy one. But that’s better then being bored? Oh well, it’s back to my most recent kdrama addiction. Lee Min Ho is delicious looking in The Heirs! =P

smooth, silky… peanut butter!

It’s been a rather peanut butter filled week. Well, so far anyway. This is my usual breakfast.

20140312_101848

Nothing unusual really, since it’s my normal breakfast of peanut butter & jam (henceforth known as PB&J). But then I went and had this for lunch.

20140311_133358

A thick slab of mee chiang kueh, PB flavored from the newly opened Jollibean in Sunway Pyramid, just before rushing off for my shift in campus. And boy, were they good. Thick mee chiang kueh batter paired with warm, slightly crunchy peanut butter (and they were generous with the PB too!), makes the perfect combo.

Have I ever mentioned I’m obsessed with peanut butter?

My breakfast every morning for the past year or so, is without fail some form of peanut butter and jam sandwich. And I can’t resist taking pictures of them too!

tumblr_mxbao4LGFJ1stzlw4o1_1280How could you when they ooze out like that! It’s gorgeous, that poetic and beautiful combination. Especially delicious when its hot toast and the PB just melts on the hot surface.

tumblr_mt8z0vC7dN1stzlw4o1_500I’m making myself hungry doing this.

tumblr_mwn9g9ov401stzlw4o1_500Ran out of jam once, so I used banana’s instead! Tasted good, really good, but nothing beats jam.

tumblr_mxzempdcOa1stzlw4o1_1280And then once in awhile, I run out of bread before the week is up. So I resort to choice number 2, which is whipping up quick single-serve yogurt pancakes, and layering them with peanut butter and jam. Work’s just as well, and a nice change occasionally.

tumblr_mz2624lkR31stzlw4o1_500I even have it in burgers! Well, in the burger joints here anyway. The one in Burgertory is called Skippy Burger, pork patty and bacon, melted cheese and delicious oozing peanut butter. The combination is mindblowing. I’ve yet to try the Elvis burger in myBurgerlab, but I’m getting there soon!

I cannot believe I just dedicated a whole post to peanut butter. At 12am. I’m hungry. ):

everything in one!

What with first day of class, dance trainings at night, cooking dinner for my parents and trying to keep up with the new load of readings that comes with having class and writing a thesis at the same time, looks like this weekly update thing will be a thing until further notice.

Then again, it isn’t as if my life is so singularly exciting that I could update everyday. I mean, really now, do you really want to hear how I spent 7 hours on the computer playing Kitchen Scramble on FB? xD

20140306_202647Costume time! With the date of the concert drawing nearer, its the time where we all scramble to get all of our costumes for all of our dances. I’m in 6 dances, so 6 different costumes it is, but the one above… isn’t one of mine. It’s for a friends, but I couldn’t resist trying it on! Corset plus a tutu? How much cuter can you get!

20140307_181233The shenanigans me and June get up to. We both wore pink that day, and were lazily lying side by side when I suddenly thought we looked like a starfish.

Yeah. My brain. I don’t even. xD

20140307_101050This was from Friday, when I was heading out for an impromptu breakfast with my parents. We usually bypass the tunnel in Tropicana, and lo and behold there was a jam out of the blue at 10AM on a weekday morning.

The cement mixer got stuck in the tunnel! God knows why it attempted to go through in the first place, but either ways when we came back the other way an hour later, it was still there. Wonder how they got it out really, since the top was all scraped and chipped.

20140308_115658Look at how we started the first day of class! As expected of a bunch of gluttonous foodies really, and we ended up bribing our lecturer too. 😛 The godiva truffles were beyond amazing!

20140308_145218I was supposed to head to Paradigm to watch the boyfie’s students perform at Battleground, so the gang came along to visit a friend (she organized battleground, so she missed the first day of class) and had lunch at the same time.

20140308_144056

For once, I skipped my usual Ultimate French Toast at Plan B (which was where we had lunch), and had the Eggs Royale. Pretty good, and I love the tinge of saltiness the smoked salmon gave to everything. Their hollandaise could use better seasoning, but since I’m a dessert girl at heart, I think I would’ve preferred the French Toast. :p

Boyfie’s students were amazing, but I didn’t manage to get pictures. Imagine pint sized 13 year olds dancing popping, and amazing 17 year olds with so much swag! His school produces students with the most amazing confidence levels, they blow my mind.

The boyfie ended up falling sick again though, for like the second weekend in a row. We have dance tomorrow morning, so here’s to hoping he gets better by then!

one day city trip!

It has been a busy week! Being part of the dance club in my university, I automatically am apart of the concert that happens every year in June, and this year we decided to not dilly dally with getting our costumes as we do every year, and end up scrambling to find appropriate wear at the last minute. So on Monday, with two of my friends we headed down to the city for a day to pretty much mall-hop and find proper costumes for ourselves.

Let me just insert a mention here, on just how much I love coming down to the city. I generally love where I stay, its so near to four of the biggest malls in Malaysia… but KL city has its charm, and Petaling Street (where we were) especially, has a kind of vintage eclecticity that I adore. It’s a little marred by tourism and foreign workers now, but I still love coming here.

But because we planned to go hunt for dinner, we shared everything! The famous Petaling Street longan juice, tau foo fah and muachi was orgasmic on the tongue.

1619561_10203296367759604_113848879_nKL’s street food is legendary. EVERYWHERE WE TURNED THERE WAS FOOD. How to diet like that I ask you. All our dance instructor’s yells of ‘lose weight!’ lost its meaning when we were presented with all of THIS. D:

We literally left it at one of the many shops we went to that day. So the next day (which was supposed to be a day where i recuperated from so much shopping! Whoever told you shopping was a leisurely activity is a liar I tell you. They lie!), we had to take a train all the way back and walked to the shops to get our stuff.

Made chicken baked enchilada’s and an array of food for my parents to wrap up Vietnamese spring rolls themselves. I… didn’t know if I should lay out fork and knives or spoons and forks that night. Couldn’t decide for a good five minutes before I just threw all three on the table. xD

1896979_10203296373639751_529731218_nHad to put on makeup on Friday night, because we were shooting the promotional trailer for our concert! I hate makeup, really. I can count the amount of times I put makeup on in a year, on one hand. But since it’s already on, lets not waste it! *whips out camera*

1653407_10203296377759854_12841898_nWe really didn’t waste our makeup, I think we took a gazillion pictures that night, but let me spare you the agony of scrolling through all the selfies, and just post one of the bigger ones. xD

1779275_10203296321198440_1442676566_nFinally met the boy after a week! He’s working, and I’m usually busy between dance classes, thesis writing and making sure I see more then 5 minutes of my parent’s a day, so weekends are usually the main times I see him.

I had major Japanese food cravings, so after his workshop training, we went for Komugi, where I had my favorite pumpkin cream soup in a bread bowl! In all honesty though, I think I prefer the bread bowl over the soup. I mean, c’mon… yeast!<3

1798880_10203296318238366_518545666_nWent to buy some stuff to cook dinner for the night as we finished up our own work (my thesis, his paperwork. We’re drowned in work. T_T), and look what I found! Cookie dough almond butter oh my gawds. I have this massive love for any nut butter… but aside from peanut butter, everything else costs a bomb. T_T

1982312_10203296320198415_1282408796_nWas supposed to go for a ribs dinner with my parents on Sunday night, but the boy fell sick in the morning, so after dance class I made some dinner and zoomed over to his place to make sure he’s not about to die from a headache and surviving on instant noodles while he was alone at home.

Ended up having dinner at home, me and my Subway while he ate the soup bihun I made him. And he offered me the hot chocolate drink he had at home, which was epic orgasmic! I always drank the Cadbury hot chocolate mix my cousins always bring back for me from Australia. During my stint in Aussie, cause I hated milo there, it was the only thing I drank.

Now I think I found something that trumps even that! The Red Velvet smelt a little artificial, so I tried the dark chocolate one first. One sip and I descended in to chocolate heaven. Make no mistake, I will be back to try the rest!!
